The Washington Health Security Coalition (WHSC) is a nonprofit association of diverse organizations, health care advocates and professionals working together to secure comprehensive, high quality, affordable health care for all.

The Washington Health Security Coalition believes there should be a health care system that guarantees quality affordable health care for all residents of Washington State and residents of the United States.  Our health care system should be built on the following principles:

• Patients’ freedom of choice of their health professionals and providers
• Continuous health care coverage
• Accessible to individuals and families
• Affordable and sustainable for society
• High quality and comprehensive health care - effective, efficient, safe, timely and patient-centered
• Equitable, fair and culturally competent health care for all

State Level – Increase support for State legislation and/or administrative action to ensure comprehensive and systemic health care reform that meets the WHSC Vision principles and supports and promotes, either wholly and/or incrementally, the achievement of our shared goal of a single payer health care system in the State of Washington.

Federal Level – Increase support for federal legislation and/or administrative action to ensure comprehensive and systemic health care reform that meets the WHSC Vision principles and supports and promotes, either wholly and/or incrementally, the achievement of our shared goal of a national single payer health care system.

Other Measures – Increase support for other federal and state legislative measures that further the WHSC Mission and Vision.
